Explicit Instruction: A Case Study of One School's Transformation.
In light of current perceptions of a decline in educational standards in Australian schooling, alternative pedagogies such as explicit instruction suggest a possible remedy. After a search of the supporting academic literature, this paper outlines one school’s adoption of explicit instructional pedagogies, including Direct Instruction (DI) and Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI). It then describes the whole-of-school changes that led to positive outcomes resulting from their journey.
